How we summarise sources

The authors’ work, in its context.

Each summary describes what its source reports, with a link to the full publication.

Use cases and research

The use cases describe six laboratory studies. The research collection contains eight reviews and one report. Findings drawn together by review authors remain attributed to that review; they are not presented as new experiments.

Findings and conditions together

Summaries are checked against the full publication, including methods, results and discussion. Measured results, model assumptions, author interpretations and proposals for future work are kept distinct. Conflicting statements in a source are identified rather than resolved by guesswork.

No added explanations

We include limitations, assumptions and recommendations supported by the source. We do not fill gaps, invent a reason for a result or infer that it applies to another material or site.

Credit and traceability

Records retain the authors, year, original publication title and full-text link. Section or page references accompany each part of the summary.
